Programs for Teachers

ETC Lardan sees improving the qualification of foreign language teachers as one of our main objectives. Due to European integration and theBologna process thatUkraine is now undergoing, our children face a variety of perspectives that they can benefit from in the future. But for effective work in this new environment they will have to confront with a new measurement system of values latter implying both international certification (e.g. level of English teaching) and issues of mentality and other principal differences. Therefore, teaching children is the top priority task of education inUkraine, since our children deserve taking their rightful place in the system of unified European education.

The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine set strict requirements according to the level of school-leavers’ command of language. Students of 11th forms are to possess B1+ CEFR level of English, the 11-formers of schools of intensive English learning are to achieve B2 CEFR level. These regulations set new requirements for the teachers’ training process.

Besides, aiming to improve the quality of education inUkraine, ETC Lardan can offer English language teachers the following ways of cooperation:

-          learning of a new terminology, innovative teaching methods and techniques, that are being actively implemented in the European educational environment; extra experience of work with latter-day teaching materials etc. in order to resolve the issues enumerated we organize a Methodology Camp twice a year in Odessa as well as free of charge seminars and conferences for school teachers and University lecturers all over Ukraine, paying special attention to each of your wishes.

-          TKT – preparing teachers for Cambridge ESOL exam in methodology;

-          Assistance in supplying teachers with latter-day teaching materials, course books, methodological support in implementing the materials in educational process.

 

In order to achieve the set objectives ETC Lardan has developed a complex programme to support secondary schools (as well as schools of intensive English learning) entitled “Strategy55”. The programme under consideration is a development and implementation of a preparation course for students that will enhance their level of English up to B1+ and B2. Since the teachers’ qualification can be assessed differently, the International TKT certificate has become one of the basic aspects of assessment. Therefore our Strategy 55 includes corresponding preparation and certification of teachers of English. The strategy is implemented by means of providing teachers a theoretical input together with practical application of the received material in the process of teaching.

The benefits of the Strategy 55 programme for teachers:

-          learning of a new terminology, innovative teaching methods and techniques, that are being actively implemented in the European educational environment;

-          a free of charge permanent International Certificate in teaching English after exam completion;

-          work with latter-day teaching materials;

-          improvement of schools’ statistics in terms of the External Independent Testing
