Special literature for SCHOOL LEAVERS

In 2011 the Ukrainian Centre assessing the quality of education recommended the books by Oxford University Press and Macmillan Publishers as an approved material preparing students for the External Independent Testing. Besides, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine use the tasks taken from OUP’s Oxford Exam Excellence, because it totally corresponds to the structure of the test itself and contains the tasks of B1-B2 levels.

Oxford Exam Excellence is a course book preparing students for the External Independent Testing, contains 12 units and is suitable for both work in class and individual studies.

Key characteristics:

-          contains all topics and lexis represented in the exam;

-          trains 4 language skills (speaking, listening, reading, writing);

-          contains tips on developing exam strategies;

-          MultiROM contains audio materials with tape scripts. You can not only listen to the texts but also edit them in your computer thus creating new tasks;

70 pages of reference material:

-          Contain the target vocabulary, speaking bank with useful conversational clichés, writing bank with models of written texts;

-          Keys with the explanation of the correct answers;

Structure of material:

-          Study diary is an organizer where you can easily see which of the exam task is being practiced, what the level of complexity is and how much time you need to do the activity. You can put your marks in a special column and compare your results with the maximum score. There’s also a special column for notes.

-          The exam topics are reviewed in 12 units, each of them is in its turn divided into two parts. White pages – an easier variant of tasks, designed for Intermediate students, yellow pages – a series of more elaborate tasks for strong  Upper-Intermediate students.

-          Each reference page has a different colouring.
